We’re Deavin and Jeff — a family of four who fell in love with Northern Michigan and, eventually, decided to make it home.
For us, Northern Michigan has always felt a little different. The pace is slower. The water is closer. Summer evenings seem to last a little longer, and there’s more room to pause, explore, and simply be together.
After years of visiting and dreaming about life Up North, we made the decision to trade a faster pace for something that felt more intentional. We wanted our two boys to grow up with a little more time outside, more adventures together, and the kind of childhood that’s measured in beach days, bonfires, bike rides, and muddy shoes.
That love of Northern Michigan is what inspired us to create Purple Elephant Properties.
We wanted to create places that feel like more than somewhere to stay — spaces that capture the feeling we fell in love with ourselves. Comfortable, thoughtfully designed homes where families and friends can slow down, reconnect, and experience the very best of Northern Michigan.
